Open your eyes to the wonder…

Today I was filled with a renewed sense of wonder at the incredible creation that surrounds us. So much thought went into every detail – the ecosystem in which we are able to breathe, an earth from which we are able to harvest crops, a body which is a continuous miracle in itself…

We can sometimes get so used to the miracle of life surrounding us. It is easy to forget how incredible it is that our bodies can regulate temperature, breathe without concious thought and convert an apple into expendable energy (to name just a few)! We are truly spectacularly and wonderfully made!

There is so much to discover around us each day – God filled the earth with good things for mankind to enjoy. Take some time to just stand in awe of His creativity and wisdom each day. He will always reveal Himself to you.

“I know that You can do all things, and that no thought or purpose of Yours can be restrained or thwarted…Therefore [I now see] I have [rashly] uttered what I did not understand, things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.” Job 42:2-3

God does not have a split personality

Some people believe God has different personalities.  They do believe in a God who performed miracles and wonders, but “He only existed in the days of the Bible”.  Somehow, in their minds, He changed into a God who expects us to get by without any supernatural manifestations in this modern day and age.

This simply is not true.  God is incapable of change – in Him there is no variation.  James 1:17 says the following:  “Every good gift and every perfect (free, large, full) gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of all [that gives] light, in [the shining of] Whom there can be no variation [rising or setting] or shadow cast by His turning [as in an eclipse].

We’ve already seen that Jesus demonstrated God’s character on earth – therefore the following verse also confirms the fact that His character does not change:  “Jesus Christ (the Messiah) is [always] the same, yesterday, today, [yes] and forever (to the ages).” Heb 13:8

We can still expect wonders!  God does not change.  He still wants to show us His glory, power and supernatural provision today.
