Input and earnings

Ever since childhood we are taught the earthly principles of input and earnings. If we work harder, we can earn more. If we put hours of effort into a task we receive a greater reward. Christianity does not operate according to the laws and principles of the natural realm – Jesus made this perfectly clear.

He used a parable about laborers in order to demonstrate the Kingdom’s principle of input and reward. A few laborers were hired during the day – some right at the beginning and some throughout the day until just before they received their payment. Those working from earlier on in the day expected more payment than those who started working right before they received their wages – yet they all received the same amount.

“Now when the first came, they supposed they would get more, but each of them also received a denarius. And when they received it, they grumbled at the owner of the estate, saying, These [men] who came last worked no more than an hour, and yet you have made them rank with us who have borne the burden and the scorching heat of the day. But he answered one of them, Friend, I am doing you no injustice. Did you not agree with me for a denarius? Take what belongs to you and go. I choose to give to this man hired last the same as I give to you.” Matthew 20:10-14

The laborers showing up for work represent Christians coming to faith in Christ. All of them receive the FULL measure of grace that Jesus gave through the cross, as well as every gift of life, healing and freedom that comes with it. It does not matter how long you have been a Christian – if you believe, you receive the ENTIRE gift. God does not differentiate between ‘established’ and ‘new’ Christians. Every person is free to receive the complete, overwhelming experience of His grace – up until the very last second before Jesus returns!

There is a choice

Over the course of the last few weeks quite a few amazing benefits of salvation have been mentioned.  Complete liberty, freedom from anxieties and fears, blessings, divine protection and healing to name just a few. God delights in people who love Him out of free will.  That’s why He does not force salvation on us.  We are given a choice.  Just like we are given the choice to believe in Jesus, we are given a choice to progress to the supernatural life of blessings and miracles.

“I call heaven and earth to witness this day against you that I have set before you life and death, the blessings and the curses; therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live…” Deut 30:19

This renewed mindset of blessing, healing and freedom does not always come naturally.  Because it goes against what we have come to know in the natural realm we need to CHOOSE life (the supernatural).  We need to choose the better portion, the gift that is wrapped up for us to freely enjoy.

“Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].” Rom 12:2

Let your mind be renewed in order to see the wealth of blessings that is set before you. Choose the better part – choose Jesus and the life that He has given us.

What you have inside you… (Part 4)

The benefits of Christ living inside us the moment we are born again are truly boundless, fathomless, incalculable, and exhaustless (Eph 3:8).  It seems as if there is no end to this discovery – what an incredible gift it is!  A quick recap:

  1. Jesus is the Word, so we now contain the truth inside us
  2. God’s presence inside us causes blessing to be around us
  3. God’s presence (the secret place) protects us and keeps us safe

God is the source, the author and the creator of all life He IS life.  That means this powerful, situation-changing Life now exists inside us.  It is this Life that will change hopeless situations into enriching situations full of possibilities.  It is this Life that will breathe new life into dry bones.  It is this Life that will heal sickness and take away depression.  Any ‘dead’ situation will change because of the life which now exists inside of us.

“And if the Spirit of Him Who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, [then] He who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also restore to life your mortal (short-lived, presihable) bodies through His Spirit Who dwells in you.” Rom 8:11

“And he who believes in (has faith in, clings to, relies on) the Son has (now posesses) eternal life.” John 3:36

What you have inside you… (Part 1)

We have such an amazing gift inside us.  I don’t think we can really comprehend how vast and overwhelming it really is! The fullness of God dwells in us the moment we are born again.  His divine nature now lives in us (also see the previous post about our new spiritual nature).

“And you are in Him, made full and having come to fullness of life [in Christ you too are filled with the Godhead – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – and reach full spiritual stature].” Col 2:10

This is incredible!  Firstly, it means that the Word of God is contained within you (Christ is the Word – John 1:1).  That means there will be a built-in resonance with any truth you hear (your spirit-man will agree and say ‘YES!’).  You will KNOW the truth, for it now lives inside you.  That is why you don’t have to submit to a list of external rules anymore, for you can now trust the Truth within you (the person, Jesus Christ).

“You show and make obvious that you are a letter from Christ delivered by us, not written with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.” 2 Cor 3:3

“After those days, says the Lord, I will put My law within them, and on their hearts will I write it; and I will be their God” Jer 31:33
